Your Checklist for Day 1 - AP Physics 1

Here's a checklist so you can be sure you are ready for Day 1.  We aren't going to waste a minute.  On Day 1, we're doing a lab.  Are you ready for the challenge?

Basic Stuff:

​

  • You are in the Remind Group for AP Physics 1 - summer work

  • Folder is set up 

    • name, period and AP Physics 1 is on the front in Sharpie - large size

    • name and period on the spine in Sharpie - large size

    • 4 labeled dividers - you do not need to buy these.  Look at the binder set up page on this site.

    • Identification page at the front of the folderwith the name and period on it

  • Lab Book is ready to go - sewn in composition notebook

    • Name and class period on cover.

    • You may decorate the cover if you would like. It is CRITICAL that your name is on it.

    • Pages are numbered in the upper right hand corner in ink.

    • Table of Contents created (4 columns) in ink on the front page

  • Aviary Book 1 is ready to go - sewn in composition notebook

  • Name and class period on cover.

  • You may decorate the cover if you would like. It is CRITICAL that your name is on it.

  • Pages are numbered in the upper right hand corner in ink.

  • Table of Contents created (4 columns) in ink on the front page

  • You have a scientific calculator of some sort (a $15 works just fine.).  You cannot use the calculator on your phone for any assessment, so you might as well get a calculator.  You can also request a loan of a calculator for the duration of the class if you need one.  We will not be able to share them at the start of the year

  • You have connected with all of the digital apps you need.

  • Other supplies

    • post it notes (package of 100)

    • highlighter (optional)

    • pencils

  • If you'd like to and it is financially easy for you to do so, bring a package of store bought cookies that will be stored for your class period.  We usually have a little celebration on Fridays to show that we are still going strong.

5 Algebraic manipulation - worksheet page 2 only printed and completed

6 Trig Functions - screenshot of finished task on Physics Aviary

7 Graphing Practice - the practice sheet and the other 4 graphs

8  Digital Resources -

  • set up your Kahn Academy login and added AP Physics 1 to your curriculum,

  • Quizizz, Quizlet, and Kahoot accounts and apps

  • Pic Collage app,

  • Technique Hudl, and

  • have explored the Physics Aviaries.

8 Set up Class Notebook and Lab Book

10 Completed the digital exam.  You may take it up to 2 times.  It will NOT be released to you until the first week of school.
